BEST BETS

  • Live where you work — Live where you shop: "Lifestyle Centers," a new real estate trend that combines a creative mix of open-air upscale retail, restaurant and entertainment options, typically near residential developments. A panel presentation featuring developers of several such local projects — including the Ward Village Shops and entertainment complex and the planned Kapolei Commons breaking ground this year — will be held Oct. 18 by the Hawai'i Association of Realtors and the Hawai'i Society of Corporate Planners. The panel presentation is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. sign-in to 1:30 p.m. at the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki, Mauna Kea Ballroom. Inouye is a more than 25-year veteran of real-estate development, in the residential, master-planned residential and luxury resort development, hotel-condominium, school and office spheres. Dinsmore, who in his various reincarnations with General Growth Properties, and Victoria Ward Ltd., oversaw development of such retail giants as the Ward Village Shops, the Ward Entertainment Complex, Ala Moana Center expansion, and various other Ward properties.
