KANE'OHE
Christmas parade taking place Saturday morning

Advertiser Staff

The Kane'ohe Christmas Parade will take place from 9 to about 10:30 a.m. Saturday with more than 100 units and 3,000 participants moving along Kamehameha Highway from Windward Mall to Castle High School.

The event will have 1,500 marchers, 30 vehicles, 15 motorcycles, 10 floats and seven bands.

Parade participants will line up at Windward Mall, on Ha'iku Road and at Kane'ohe Bay Shopping Center. They will travel down Ha'iku Road to Kamehameha Highway and turn on Kane'ohe Bay Drive to end at Castle High School.

Crossroads along the route will be closed to traffic.

The parade is sponsored by the Kane'ohe Christmas Parade Committee and has received generous donations from local businesses and individuals, said Anna Kuulei Richardson Olsen, parade coordinator. A Christmas Parade T-shirt sale helps to raise money to pay for the event.
