The first thing that comes to mind when talking about Hawai'i Craftsmen is, naturally, crafts. However, the artsy organization also has lots of fashion-related members. Today through Dec. 29, they are holding a gallery gale at The ARTS at Marks Garage, featuring great finds for the fashionista.

Claudia Coonen, of Maui, hand dyes lovely silk chiffon and velvet scarves; Elizabeth Kent creates gorgeous kimono jackets; Hadji Baba Bags is getting quite a reputation for their one-of-a-kind handbags that are also art pieces, and there is jewelry galore by talented artists such as Mary Bertolino, Brenda Ching, Susan Morita, Bow Porter, Charlene Tashima and Dee vanDyke.

The hours are usually 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays at The ARTS at Marks, but there are some special holiday hours: open until 8 p.m tonight; until 8 p.m. Thursday nights (through Christmas); and until 9 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 7 (First Friday) until 9 p.m.

HOLIDAY BAZAAR

An impressive group of 20 artists, designers and entrepreneurs will be putting on a "Just for Fun Holiday Shopping Bazaar" at Cupola Theatre in the Honolulu Design Center.

The Shrug Queen, Pam Sandridge, has been knitting all-nighters and will bring her latest collection for cool Island evenings. Toby Portner will present her latest Polka Dot Tree House collection. Colleen Knudsen will bring along her vintage accessories and clothes. Susan Snyder, of Susan Snyder Facials and Massage, will be there for advice on skin care. Meleana Blaich will present her handbag collection, and Urban Jungle's unique T-shirts will round out the fashion offerings.

There will be a dessert buffet for $12 and a complimentary holiday drink for shoppers, 4:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Cupola Theatre in the Honolulu Design Center.

A WORLD OF ART

The annual World Art Bazaar put on by the Honolulu Academy of Arts is always a treasure trove of exotic textiles, ethnic clothing and jewelry. Academy shop manager Kathee Hoover makes it her mission each year to travel to warehouses and international gift shows, carefully selecting indigenous arts from such around the world.

This year, the event's 26th, Hoover purchased a large collection of Japanese haori (jackets), as well as clothing made from vintage Thai silk ikat sarongs, hand-woven textiles from Indonesia and an extensive array of ethnic jewelry.

See it 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays at the Academy Art Center at Linekona. Validated parking available for $3.

MU'UMU'U HEAVEN PARTY

Mu'umu'u Heaven, that haven for eco-friendly clothing and design in Kailua, is putting on a holiday party for Meleana Blaich and her new handbag collection, as well as Jyoti Mau and her latest photographic series. Deb Mascia of Mu'umu'u Heaven will also unveil some new designs.

THAT'S HOT

Socialite/heiress/model Paris Hilton has added another title: fashion designer. The reality show star unveiled her clothing line in August at Kitson, an L.A. boutique with a celeb clientele.

Now the line is being carried by Island Style Attitudes, on the second floor at the top of the mauka escalators in Aloha Tower marketplace. The line includes T-shirts, dresses and jeans. Jeans, $86 to $92, come in a variety of straight-leg styles, including the twisted-seam skinny jeans Hilton wore home from jail. T-shirts range from $38 to $42.
