PUKALANI
Astronomy talk links sun to Earth climate change

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i Institute for Astronomy will hold its second "Maui Maikalani Community Lecture" from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday. The free public lecture series takes place at the institute's new building, Maikalani, in Pukalani.

Astronomer Jeff Kuhn will speak about "Why We Really Need to Know How the Sun Works: An Important Truth." He will describe how the sun and Earth's climate systems are inextricably linked and why we are not in a position to decide whether man-made or natural climate-forcing changes will dominate future climate changes.

Maikalani, also known as the Advanced Technology Research Center, is located at 34 'Ohi'a Ku St. in the Kulamalu Town Center.
