3 Isle hotels win AAA 5 diamonds

Three Hawai'i hotels and one restaurant have repeated as the state's AAA Five Diamond Award winners for 2008.
The AAA Five Diamond rating, the organization's highest rating for hotels and restaurants, was awarded to:
"Only the extraordinary hotels and restaurants that meet the highest standards of consistent quality and excellence receive the AAA Five Diamond Award," said Richard Velazquez, AAA Hawaii regional manager. "The outstanding Five Diamond establishments and their employees are to be congratulated for delivering the ultimate in luxury travel and dining experiences and for consistently meeting AAA's highest standards."
More than 60,000 Diamond Rated establishments are evaluated each year by AAA's 65 full-time evaluators.
Only 0.27 percent that complete a successful annual evaluation earn the AAA Five Diamond Award and a listing in the AAA TourBook guides.
To be considered for AAA approval and rating, lodgings and restaurants must undergo a thorough inspection by one of AAA's 65 full-time professional evaluators.
AAA Five Diamond establishments go through the most extensive review.
AAA Hawaii is an affiliate of AAA. It has served members since 1921. Today, AAA Hawaii provides services that include roadside assistance, maps, international and domestic travel planning and reservations; pedestrian and traffic safety programs; automotive financing, and financial services.
