Ka'anapali units bring in $100M

The developer of the planned 700-unit Honua Kai resort condominium complex on Maui's Ka'anapali Beach reported an additional $100 million in sales so far this year.

Canada-based Intrawest Corp. sold about 75 units for a rough average of $1.3 million each at the project, according to project broker Playground Destination Properties Inc.

The increment brings total sales at the project, which released initial units for sale in 2005, to 587 units for roughly $725 million in two towers.


LACY HONORED BY TRIAL LAWYERS

John Lacy, a partner at Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel, has been named a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Lacy is one of 26 local attorneys in the organization, which is comprised of the top trial lawyers from the United States and Canada. Membership is offered by invitation only to trial lawyers who have "mastered the art of advocacy and whose careers have embodied the highest ethical and moral standards," according to the law firm.


CITY'S FINANCIAL REPORTING CITED

Honolulu's city government has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

The award is "the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management," the association said.
