The popular summertime twilight series, Starbucks Wildest Show in Town, will begin June 13 at Honolulu Zoo, and will be a "hump day" feature — every Wednesday evening — through Aug. 15.
The long-running series will mark its 10th anniversary under Starbucks sponsorship, with a two-hour program for the finale beginning at 5:15 p.m. Traditionally, the event runs from 6 to 7 p.m., with organizer Roy Sakuma as master of ceremonies. Sakuma also is founder-presenter of the summertime 'Ukulele Festival at the Kapiolani Park Bandstand, so a uke giveaway has become a weekly tradition at the Wildest Show programs. (Weekly drawings also will be held for minors 12 and under for a KoAlana Ukulele).
Kama'aina show-goers generally pack a picnic supper for a pau-hana dinner; the zoo is open for visits prior to showtime.
Admission is a $2 donation. The zoo closes its regular visitation at 4:30 p.m. and those attending may enter from 4:35 p.m.
