There will be no hurrahs when Justin goes marching off to war again on tonight's "Brothers & Sisters" finale. Dave Annable, who plays the Walker clan's youngest and most troubled child, admits that talk of his character heading to Iraq initially caused him concern.

Executive producer "Ken Olin joshes me that I'm not coming back," Annable says. "Now everyone's saying, 'I can't wait for Season 2. ... Oh, sorry, Dave.' "

This latest twist caps a turbulent year for the character, who lost his father, suffered a breakup and battled depression and drugs. All that drama, says the actor, has led to diverse fan reaction.

"I got a three-page letter from a girl whose brother is over in Iraq," says Annable. "There was one guy who wrote to say he has been in and out of rehab twice. And I had one fan call me McJunkie."

Life behind the scenes is far cheerier, with Annable having forged friendships with his two TV brothers, Matthew Rhys (Kevin) and Balthazar Getty (Tommy). This summer, the three will unite in Greece.

"These guys definitely are my brothers," he says, "but they torture me because I'm the youngest."

Annable, 27, also made friends with another special someone in the ABC family. He dated "Grey's Anatomy's" Kate Walsh, 39, through the winter.

"She's a great lady," Annable says. "She's beautiful, so sweet and funny. We had a lot of fun. Clearly, we're just at two different points in our lives, but we're still good friends, and I wish her the best in her new relationship." Walsh is now engaged to Alex Young, a production exec at 20th Century Fox.

The show's success allowed him to buy a golf shop for his parents, Rod and Tammy Annable. "That was one of the things this amazing year allowed me to do," Annable says. "That's been a dream of my dad's for a long time."

There is happiness on the horizon for his TV family, too. Tonight, the Walkers come together to celebrate Kitty (Calista Flockhart) and Sen. McCallister's (Rob Lowe) engagement.
