Successful Island-born-and-raised businessman Steve Case has launched a new Web site: www.RevolutionHealth.com.
Why it's in the news: It's a comprehensive health and medical information Web site set up by Case, co-founder of AOL (and a major shareholder of Maui Land and Pineapple). It's aimed at busy moms and other caregivers.
What it offers: Get information on prevention and treatment of conditions and diseases. Learn about medications, share information and emotional support with friends and family, or use online tools to get personal information.
What I learned in a couple of minutes: The pain in my right hip is likely osteoarthritis, I burn 339 calories walking for an hour, and my body mass index is 22.7.
What you might learn: Is my 10-year-old mature enough to be left home alone? Is it normal for my 2-year-old not to be talking?
Where the info comes from: Healthcare providers, as well as moms, give their opinions in partnership with the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Harvard Health Publications, Columbia University Medical Center and more than 100 other organizations.
How much Case invested in this: $100 million
How much it costs you to use it: Nothing
