  • SHARON McAULIFFE has been named senior director of e-commerce at ResortQuest Hawai'i. Most recently, she was director of e-commerce for Castle Resorts & Hotels, and has served as director of e-distribution for Pacific Valley Investors Hotel Group, where she worked with nine hotels in California. Honolulu-based ResortQuest, formerly Aston Hotels & Resorts, manages 5,000 resort condominiums, hotel rooms and cottages, in 26 properties statewide.

  • Communications Pacific has promoted Shane Peters to vice president, directing the firm's land use and real estate practice, an integrated specialty group that focuses on the real estate and development industry in Hawai'i. Peters joined the company in 2004 as an account executive in the community-building practice. He serves on the board of the Hawai'i Developers' Council.

  • Thom Newman has been named director of sales for the new Preview Center in the Waikiki Marina Resort at the 'Ilikai Hotel, owned by Shell Vacation Club. The six-year company veteran was, most recently, sales manager at the Kaua'i Coast Resort at the Beachboy on Kaua'i. In his new position, he will direct a team of nearly 40 sales and marketing vacation ownership professionals. Also, Romeo Moore was named assistant sales manager for the center. He has been with the company nearly 12 years. Domonique Machovec was named support services manager, with a staff of more than a dozen employees. She has been with the company for three years. With 23 resorts in seven states, Mexico and Canada, Shell Vacation Club has other Hawai'i resorts including the Holua Resort at Mauna Loa Village, the Kona Coast Resort in Kona, the Kaua'i Coast Resort at the Beachboy, and Paniolo Greens on the Big Island.

  • The Gas Co. has hired Don Kuriki as a financial analyst, handling financial reporting, budgeting and analysis, consolidations, and finance-related research. He will also participate in preparing Securities and Exchange Commission filings, cash forecasting, and monitoring internal control compliance. Prior to joining the company, Kuriki was senior tax specialist at Hawaiian Telecom. The Gas Co. provides gas energy and related services to 67,000 commercial and residential customers on O'ahu, the Big Island, Maui, Kaua'i, Moloka'i, and Lana'i.

  • The Honolulu City and County Employees Federal Credit Union has named James R. Haid Jr. business development manager, overseeing the business partners program. Prior to joining HCCEFCU, Haid held the same position with HawaiiUSA FCU. The Honolulu City and County Employees FCU is the third-largest credit union in Hawai'i with almost 24,000 members; more than $410 million in assets; three branches and 40 ATMs.

  • Big Island tourism and hotel sales veteran MARGO MAU BUNNELL has been named sales manager for the Waikoloa Beach Resort, on the island's Kohala Coast. She will be responsible for selling group tour packages, as well as developing marketing partnerships for the resort. The 15-year industry veteran most recently handled international sales and marketing for the Big Island Visitors Bureau. The 1,350-acre Kohala resort this fall is scheduled to open the 135,000-square-foot Queen's MarketPlace and adjoining Waikoloa Cultural Gardens.
