Anti-marijuana operations financed by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration led to the seizure of more than 46,000 plants and almost 93 pounds of processed pot last year, Big Island police said.
In a report to the Big Island County Council, police also reported that marijuana eradication operations led to 587 arrests — an average of more than one a day on the island.
Police also reported seizing nearly $350,000 in assets in marijuana raids and other enforcement activities, and confiscating 66 weapons, including 19 firearms.
The operations were financed with a $341,246 grant from the DEA, according to the report.
