  • Hawai'i native Ted Y. Mashima has been named president and executive director of the Washington, D.C.-based Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund, the country's largest national organization devoted solely to providing scholarships for Asian and Pacific Islander Americans. Most recently, Mashima was associate director of the Center for Public and Corporate Veterinary Medicine at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Since its formation in 2003, the organization has distributed more than $730,000 to first-time college students in the United States, the Freely Associated States and the U.S. territories.

  • SUSAN NAKAMURA has been named director of marketing and communications for the YMCA of Honolulu. A 20-year marketing and public relations veteran, Nakamura was most recently marketing manger at the Hawai'i Convention Center. Also, SONYA CHUNG-HIRANO has been named to director of philanthropy, focusing on annual giving programs, and foundation and corporate giving; and DIANE TABANGAY, has been named director of childcare and will oversee the YMCA's extensive childcare program. In other personnel moves, KRISTI PAUL and jen townsend have been promoted to executive directors of the Kaimuki-Wai'alae and Atherton branches, respectively.

  • BRUCE C. SHEWALTER has been promoted to president of Contract Furnishers of Hawai'i Inc., the Herman Miller office and medical furnishings dealer for Hawai'i and the Pacific Rim, doing business as Office Pavilion. He will retain his position of vice president sales and marketing. Gerri Hayes will remain dealer principal and chief executive officer of Office Pavilion, while Shewalter will oversee day-to-day operations. Shewalter joined Office Pavilion in 1993, became the vice president of operations in 1994 and vice president of sales and marketing in 2006.

  • Lee Ann Reilly has been promoted to human resources manager at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa. She will oversee job recruitment, hiring and labor relations. In other personnel changes, Dani Anderson has been promoted to employment manager for the Village; Jonathan O'Kane has been appointed assistant beverage manager; Frederick "Erick" Jaro has been named assistant restaurant manager for the casual poolside Tapa Café at Hilton Hawaiian Village; and Sharon Weddle has been named hotel activities director, serving as hotel liaison for guests.

  • Scott K. Hino has been hired as vice president and financial reporting manager at Central Pacific Bank, and Maureen P. Lichter has been hired as vice president and manager of the CPB Product Management Department. In other personnel moves, Fernando E. Lopez has been promoted to assistant vice president and commercial banking associate; Beth W. GreenhiLl has been promoted to assistant vice president and community events officer; Jay D. MasteR has been promoted to assistant vice president and creative and branch merchandise officer; Lisa H.J. Nihei was promoted to assistant vice president and online banking product manager; Jane L. Ratcliffe has been promoted to assistant vice president and commercial documentation manager of CPB's Commercial Documentation Department; and Donna K. Takeda has been promoted to assistant vice president and special events officer.

  • Beth Anthony Mehau has been named executive director of the Big Island's Habitat for Humanity-West Hawaii. Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness worldwide. Anthony Mehau will oversee and direct the volunteer and professional staff in the building of quality homes in West Hawai'i, including overseeing Habitat's ReStore. Anthony Mehau was, most recently, program coordinator for North Hawai'i Drug-Free Coalition, managing federal grants, volunteer recruitment and program implementation.
