Folse's pitching lifts HPU

Turhan Folse pitched 3 2/3 innings of two-hit, scoreless relief as Hawai'i Pacific held off Southern Connecticut State, 3-2, in a non-conference baseball game last night at Central O'ahu Regional Park.
Folse struck out five, including two in a row to strand runners at second and third in the seventh as the Sea Warriors improved to 15-9.
Earlier, in the completion of a suspended game from Wednesday, Spencer Omalza and Jason Shimizu drew back-to-back walks with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh as HPU rallied for a 13-12 win over the Owls (4-15).
In Wednesday's series-opener, Tripper Chung's three-run triple sparked a five-run sixth and Danny Lee's sacrifice fly with one out in the seventh scored the winning run as HPU triumphed, 6-5.
HILO BEATEN, 16-5
Justin Carr hit a three-run homer and Ryan Curry had four hits and four RBIs as Bradley beat Hawai'i-Hilo, 16-5, last night in a non-conference seven-inning baseball game at Wong Stadium.
Paul Rice and Mike McMillan each had three hits for the Braves (10-7).
Ronel Trias had two hits and two RBIs for Hilo (5-24).
SOFTBALL
BYUH FALLS, 6-2
Nicole Seymour's two-run double in the fifth broke a 2-2 tie and lifted Grand Canyon past Brigham Young-Hawai'i, 6-2, yesterday in a Pacific West Conference game at Phoenix, Ariz.
Jana Dewey hit a two-run homer for the Seasiders (10-11, 1-4 PacWest).
The second game was postponed because of bad weather.

The Hawai'i Speed and Quickness clinics continue with sessions tomorrow and Sunday at the University of Hawai'i athletic complex.
Josh Fouts, the UH soccer team's assistant coach, and Tommy Hefferman, UH's head conditioning coach, will be the featured instructors.
For $10, each participant receives instruction in plyometrics and resistance training, as well as a UH football media guide and coupons redeemable at Jamba Juice and Jack in the Box.
Sessions are 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and are open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
