Natural disaster lectures slated

The University of Hawai'i-Hilo Center for the Study of Active Volcanoes is offering free lectures on natural disasters this month emphasizing lessons learned from the Oct. 15 earthquakes.
Seminars will be offered March 20 at Waikoloa Elementary School Cafeteria and April 9 at Tutu's House in the Kamuela Business Center in Waimea.
Presentations are from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will cover ways to protect home and family from earthquake and other hazards and the role of government in coping with natural disasters.
