Rain demands a little respect

The world tour promotion and production company that represents Korean pop star Rain apparently has thrown a damper over Click Entertainment's recent lawsuit against the Korean mega-star and his Seoul-based handlers.
That suit was the result of a canceled Rain concert at Aloha Stadium. Hawai'i concert promoters said Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, never intended to perform in Hawai'i, and that he tried to cheat Click out of a half-million dollars in licensing fees.
Click filed a complaint in U.S. District Court in Honolulu accusing Rain, StarM, JYPE and Rain's North American promoter, Revolution Entertainment, of fraud.
Now, according to a posting on Asianfanatics.net, Rain's handlers say Click's accusations have harmed Rain's reputation. StarM is moving to countersue Click, and is preparing litigation citing defamation of Rain, the Asianfanatics.net post said.
Furthermore, StarM also accuses Click of being disrespectful toward Rain, and of violating Rain's contract by not meeting the stage production demands. For one thing, StarM said, Rain can't perform on a "stage that (is) not 100 percent waterproof."
Contrary to Click's contention that Rain "never actually intended to produce a concert in Hawai'i," "StarM tried to work with Click to make the Hawai'i concert happen even after the termination," the Web site post said.
