Four Hawai'i tennis teams will compete at the 2007 Western Regional Mixed Doubles Championship, Nov. 16 to 18 at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas.
The teams qualified by winning the U.S. Tennis Association League Hawai'i Section Championships last weekend on the Big Island.
The Hawai'i teams are: Maui Mo Foes (9.0 level, captain Maurice Zane) from Maui, and Chillaxin (6.0 level, Jason Arakaki), Breakaway (7.0, Avis Tamura) and Ala Moana Mano (8.0, Dexter Osato) from O'ahu.
The USTA League Tennis Program was established in 1980 and it has grown from 13,000 participants in a few parts of the country in its first year, to more than 585,000 players across the country, making it the world's largest recreational tennis league.
