KEY HOUSE VOTE
HOMELAND SECURITY
The House on Friday passed, 268-150, a $37.4 billion Homeland Security spending bill to fund intelligence, domestic security and disaster relief agencies for the next year. The measure increases spending for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Transportation Security Administration and Border and Customs service, while the Coast Guard will get less than requested.

KEY SENATE VOTE
NO CONFIDENCE IN THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
A procedural vote of 53-38 Monday fell seven votes short of the number required to move on a resolution of no confidence in Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Seven Republicans voted with Democrats to proceed with the resolution.
