TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," 9 p.m., NBC. Let's give NBC credit for letting this beautifully written show die with dignity. Instead of shelving "Studio 60," it is airing the new episodes in a good time slot. This one, billed as the middle of a three-parter, sees the health crisis grow for Jordan (Amanda Peet). Also, Simon (D.L. Hughley) rages during a news conference. During all this, we get flashbacks to the key moment, five years ago, when Matt and Danny (Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford) were fired.

OF NOTE

Basketball, 3 p.m., ABC, with preview at 2:30 p.m. It's the fourth game, between the San Antonio Spurs and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"The Starter Wife," 6 p.m., USA Network. Joan (Judy Davis) is in trouble again, arrested for drunken driving. Meanwhile, Sam is being questioned by police and Molly's testimony is no help.

"Fast Cars and Superstars," 7 p.m., ABC. Today's drivers include Gabrielle Reece, who really is a superstar in volleyball. Also, Bill Cowher, the former Pittsburgh Steeler coach. And William Shatner, a superstar in his own universe.

"My Name is Earl," 7 p.m., NBC. Earl wants to help the guy he once locked in a truck. That will be difficult, though, because the guy is dead. What follows, in this rerun, is a funeral that is sometimes funny and sometimes quite touching.

"30 Rock," 7:30 p.m., NBC. In this rerun, Liz goes back to her old boyfriend, the beeper salesman. Meanwhile, she has trouble with the altered appearance of people on her show. One had Botox, another has a face tattoo, a third has two black eyes.

"The Office," 8 p.m., NBC. Mindy Kaling, who plays Kelly, wrote this episode, which reruns. Her family is celebrating Diwali, a Hindu festival. Michael (Steve Carell) brings his staff; he also brings his girlfriend Carol — played by Carell's real-life wife, Nancy Walls. Back at the office, Jim and Andy try a drinking game.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. Mid-act, the Cirque du Soleil discovers a body. Later in this rerun, Catherine's life is in danger.

"Shark," 9 p.m., CBS. A black teen has been killed by a cop. The shooter says it was self-defense, but the victim was upstanding and Stark doubts the story.
