GUYS 'N' GLAMOUR

Boys dress up as girls in the glam 24th annual Universal ShowQueen Pageant at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Kalakaua Ballroom of the Hawai'i Convention Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. for no-host cocktail service.

Contestants vie in four categories: couture cocktail, evening gown, talent and Las Vegas showgirl. More than $10,000 in prizes will be awarded.

DANCEFORCE IN 'RED'

"Red" is the theme of 24-VII Danceforce's summer concerts, at 7:30 p.m. June 29, 2 and 7:30 p.m. June 30 and July 1 at Paliku Theatre, Windward Community College. The event, choreographed and directed by Marcelo Pacleb, will feature Danceforce members, plus the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior Dancers and the UH Drumforce.

Contributors Mark Kanemura, Preston Meneses and Ry'n Sabado will miss the show — Kanemura and Meneses will join Janet Jackson's upcoming world tour. Sabado will teach dance in Japan this summer.
