Oscar-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss ("Close Encounters of the Third Kind") will have a close encounter of an Island kind when he joins the cast of Joe Moore's courtroom drama "Prophecy and Honor" Aug. 16-19 at the Hawai'i Theatre. Dreyfuss portrays Congressman Frank Reid, an attorney defending real-life aviation pioneer Gen. Billy Mitchell, played by KHON-2 news anchor Moore.

Dreyfuss has appeared in a such box-office hits as "Jaws," "Mr. Holland's Opus" and "Down and Out in Beverly Hills." He joins a company that includes George Segal, James MacArthur, Don Stroud, Terence Knapp, Dezmond Gilla and Frank DeLima. Glenn Cannon will direct.

The production is a benefit for the Pacific Aviation Museum. Tickets go on sale July 3 at the box office.
