SWIMMING
Free summer swim classes for children and adults are being offered in June and July by the Hawai'i State Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Classes meet at Ala Moana Beach Park. Registration is required.
Adult classes are scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:15 to 6 p.m., starting June 12. Keiki classes are Saturdays from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., starting June 16.
Classes for adults are divided into three groups by ability, from non-swimmer to intermediate. Children's classes are divided by age and experience.

Summer "buddies" sought. The American Red Cross' Summer Buddies Teen Volunteer Program will start June 16 in conjunction with the summer swim program.
Summer Buddies is a 6-week water safety aide program for teens (13-17). Participants help certified water safety instructors in teaching keiki to swim.
