KHON-TV may be sold again

About a year after buying KHON-TV, the station's California-based owner is considering selling the local Fox affiliate and its sister stations on the Mainland.
Joe McNamara, KHON's president and general manager, said Montecito Broadcast Group LLC has decided to explore the sale of the stations over the next 30 days after receiving an unsolicited offer.
Montecito, whose partners include the Blackstone Group of New York, owns KHON, KOIN in Portland and KSWN-TV in Wichita, Kan.
VERIZON WIRELESS COVERAGE GROWS
Verizon Wireless said its wireless users now have increased coverage on Maui, including the western portion of Kapalua and Pineapple Hill, the northern portion of Honoapi'ilani Highway and surrounding area, following the construction of a new Verizon Wireless cell site.
Verizon Wireless said it has invested $37 billion in the past seven years to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services.
HONOLULU 8TH IN JOBS CATEGORY
Honolulu ranked eighth among large American cities in information and transportation employment growth, according to a new survey by Inc. magazine.
The magazine examined published statistical information on employment growth nationwide. In information and transportation, Honolulu moved up to No. 8, from 26 last year.
