Deputy County Engineer Kylan Dela Cruz has been named deputy director of the new county Department of Parks and Recreation.

Dela Cruz started work at the new job yesterday.

The Parks and Recreation Department was established as a separate county department in a charter amendment passed in November's General Election. It was previously part of the Department of Public Works.

Dela Cruz will work with new parks department director Bernard Carvalho.

"I look forward to working with Bernard and the mayor in laying the foundation for the Department of Parks and Recreation," Dela Cruz said.
