Hearing tomorrow for 2 women in meth case

By Rod Ohira
Advertiser Staff Writer

A preliminary hearing for two women accused of first-degree meth trafficking is scheduled tomorrow in District Court.

Charlene Leiola Yim, 60, of 'Ewa Beach, and Denzie H. Thomas, 44, of 'Ahuimanu, were arrested Wednesday after they allegedly accepted delivery of a drug shipment from out of state at Thomas' Hui Alala Street home.

Police had intercepted the package and set up the controlled-delivery operation, according to Narcotics/Vice Division Capt. Kerry Inouye.

The shipment contained about 1 pound of methamphetamine, officers said.

Yim and Thomas were charged Friday.

They were being held in lieu of $30,000 bail each at the O'ahu Community Correctional Center, pending tomorrow's preliminary hearing.
