TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
"Victoria Beckham: Coming to America," 7 p.m., NBC. The broadcast networks keep gambling on reality as a summer solution. Tonight, three of the big four — ABC, NBC and Fox — have nothing but reality or news. For this hour, NBC focuses on two people who were big in another country, in another millennium. Victoria Beckham was a Spice Girl; David Beckham, now her husband, was a soccer superstar. Now David, late in his career, has been signed by a Los Angeles team. Victoria moves to a town that is always happy to have another celebrity couple. This hour views her transition.
OF NOTE
"The Closer," 5 and 6 p.m., TNT. If you missed last week's episode, catch its rerun at 5. Tough, tense and disturbing, it has the team scrambling to find a missing, 8-year-old girl. Then comes a new hour; a young man won't identify himself, but will say he's killed seven people.
"Big Love," 6 p.m., HBO. Last week, Margene subtly saw Bill with Ana, the immigrant waitress he clearly likes. Now she introduces Bill's other wives to her. Meanwhile, 14-year-old troublemaker Rhonda gets media attention.
"How I Met Your Mother," 7 and 8:31 p.m., CBS. In the first rerun, Ted's parents yield a surprise during their 30th anniversary. In the second, Ted learns that Robin finds his work stories to be boring.
"Hell's Kitchen," 7 and 8 p.m., Fox. First is a rerun of last week's episode. Then a new hour starts with the six remaining chefs making entrees out of leftovers.
"Age of Love," 8 p.m., NBC. There are three dates built around things Mark likes. He takes some women surfing and some to the movies. Then he takes one on a motorcycle to a biker bar.
"Greek," 9 p.m., ABC Family. Don't you hate it when two important events collide? Rusty, a college freshman, is torn between a physics exam and a beer-pong tournament.
"CSI: Miami," 9 p.m., CBS. This rerun starts a two-parter centering on Clavo Crux, whom Horatio caught years ago. He's still in prison, but may be the mastermind behind the theft of a truckload of weapons.
"Simon Schama's Power of Art," 10 p.m., PBS. This hour examines "The Death of Marat" Jacques-Louis David.
