Hawaiian Air flying 87% full

Hawaiian Airlines said its airplanes were 87 percent full in June, unchanged from the same month a year earlier.

The state's largest airline said it served 616,419 passengers in June, up 14.9 percent from the year-earlier period.

Hawaiian said its revenue passenger miles increased 17.9 percent to 678.4 million in June, from a year earlier.


NATIVE HAWAIIAN CHAMBER TO MEET

The Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce will discuss the benefits of establishing a Native Hawaiian organization at its monthly luncheon meeting Thursday.

The program begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at 1451 Queen Emma St. and will be followed by a discussion led by Chris Dawson, president of the Dawson Group, and H.K. Bruss Keppeler, an attorney and expert on Native Hawaiian organizations.

The fee for the luncheon is $15 for chamber members and $20 for nonmembers. For information, call 951-5373.


AMERIQUEST FORMS ON WAY

The state is sending out claim forms to more than 2,200 local residents who are eligible for $1.6 million in restitution from Ameriquest Mortgage Co.

The restitution is part of a $325 million nationwide settlement of lawsuits alleging that Ameriquest Mortgage Co. engaged in predatory lending practices.

Sept. 10 is the deadline to submit claim forms to the Ameriquest Settlement Administrator, P.O. Box 1855, Fairbault, MN 55021-7110.
