TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Grey's Anatomy," 8 p.m., ABC. In the middle of a strong season, "Grey's Anatomy" had one exceptional streak. During a three-week stretch, this was clearly the best thing on television. That stretch begins tonight. There's been a ferryboat disaster; the young surgical interns rush there, while others wait at the hospital. On one level, "Grey's Anatomy" remains an overwrought soap opera. Tonight, Cristina can't get herself to tell her best friend, Meredith, that she has agreed to marry Burke. That's a harbinger of troubles and indecision ahead. On another level, these three episodes are taut, solid and visual. It adds up to a terrific roller-coaster of emotions.

"So You Think You Can Dance," 8 p.m., Fox. Some astonishingly good people have already been eliminated. Now two more are going, cutting the list to 12. Also, Hilary Duff performs.

OF NOTE

"Bring It On" (2000), 7 and 9 p.m., ABC Family. You really don't expect to build an empire out of cheerleaders. This film was successful enough, however, to launch two sequels, one of which airs tomorrow. Here's the original, starring Kirsten Dunst and Eliza Dushku. A cheerleading squad learns that its routines were stolen from an inner-city school; now it scrambles to start over.

"Hotel Rwanda" (2004), 7 p.m., MyNetwork (KFVE). This makeshift network, which often has silly shows, gets dead-serious tonight. Don Cheadle received an Oscar nomination for his role as a hotel manager who struggled to save more than 1,000 lives in the midst of genocide in Rwanda.

"My Name is Earl," 7 p.m., NBC. With Catalina deported, Earl and his brother head to Mexico to retrieve her. There are some great moments in the first half of this rerun, when it turns out that Earl knows nothing about flying in an airplane. The second half gets pretty goofy, with John Leguizamo as a kidnapper, but has its moments.

"The Office," 8 p.m., NBC. Dwight has been acting strangely — well, even more strangely than usual — after an accident, in this rerun.

"30 Rock," 8:30 p.m., NBC. In this rerun of a good episode, Liz really isn't sure if she's out on a date with Jack. Also, she's surprised to meet his ex-wife, played by Isabella Rossellini.

"Shark," 9 p.m., CBS. Stark is battling his former protege, played by Natasha Henstridge, in this rerun. Meanwhile, he hatches a plan to scare his daughter out of drink and drugs.
