CALLS FOR VOLUNTEERS
'Iolani Palace seeks volunteer greeters who welcome visitors, check tickets and present touring rules and guardians who provide assistance to docents and visitors. A free training class, 8-11 a.m. Jan. 27, will provide volunteers with an orientation to the palace and the responsibilities for their positions. Students and senior are especially invited to apply. Honolulu Academy of Arts calls for volunteers to staff the Feb. 7-Aug. 12 exhibit "The Chrysanthemum and the Sword," a collection of Edo-period Japanese court and samurai dolls. Various shifts will be available during academy hours and volunteers will be responsible for the security and protection of the dolls on display in open cases.
