Woman injured in vehicle attack

A 45-year-old woman suffered facial and neck injuries yesterday from a early morning confrontation with a former boyfriend in which her car was rammed more than a dozen times.
Police said the man, 47, violated a temporary restraining order by confronting the woman, who was sleeping in her car in a convenience store parking lot. She fought off his attempts to drag her out of the car and drove off.
The man gave pursuit and allegedly rammed her car nine times. The woman was driving on Nalanieha Street when her car was again rammed several times, forcing her to hit a parked vehicle and utility pole. The woman drove to the Kalihi police substation and reported the incident at 7 a.m.
Police classified the case as an attempted murder and are seeking to question the man, who was at large last night.
MAN HOSPITALIZED AFTER STABBING
A 41-year-old man was stabbed early yesterday during an argument that escalated into a knife fight at 607 N. King St. in Kalihi.
The man was hospitalized with wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening. The 5:15 a.m. incident was being investigated as an attempted murder and police had made no arrests as of last night.
THREE CHARGED WITH DEALING ICE
Three men were charged yesterday with trafficking crystal methamphetamine in Waipahu.
Ernesto T. Bolahao and John Robert McMillen, both 41 years old and Waipahu Street residents; and 51-year-old Benjamin Rivera Jr. of Kane'ohe appeared yesterday at District Court on charges of second-degree meth trafficking.
Bolahao's bail of $43,050 includes five outstanding warrants totaling $22,150. Bail for McMillen and Rivera is $50,000 and $30,000, respectively.
The three were arrested in an undercover operation Tuesday at 1:53 p.m. The alleged meth dealing occurred near August Ahrens Elementary School.
RESCUERS RETRIEVE BOY FROM HOLE
Firefighters yesterday rescued a 7-year-old boy who became stuck in a 5-foot-deep crevice in the trunk of a banyan tree at Aliamanu Crater for 45 minutes. The boy was rescued unharmed by firefighters from the Moanalua ladder company and Rescue II specialists.
Fire Department spokesman Capt. Kenison Tejada said the boy went in feet-first to retrieve a toy that had fallen into the hole. Firefighters applied lubricant on his body and pulled him out around 6:40 p.m.
MATCHES BLAMED FOR MO'ILI'ILI FIRE
A child playing with matches started the Christmas tree fire Wednesday that damaged a third-floor apartment at 2514 S. Beretania St. in Mo'ili'ili, fire investigators said.
Firefighters credited neighbors' efforts with preventing the fire from spreading. The blaze caused minor damage.
Fire Department investigators also determined that combustibles left close to a lamp started Tuesday's fire in a second-floor resident manager's unit at 725 Pi'ikoi St.
PRISON ESCAPEE BACK IN CUSTODY
Police in Waipahu yesterday captured an escapee from O'ahu Community Correctional Center.
Nicolas Patrocinio, 39, who failed to return to OCCC Nov. 24 from a drug treatment program, was arrested without incident at a convenience store on the 94-900 block of Farrington Highway about 2:30 p.m. Pearl City Crime Reduction Unit officers identified him by a large tattoo of his name on his back.
