Seattle waives veteran Mili, promotes rookie receiver

The Seattle Seahawks waived veteran tight end Itula Mili, a Kahuku High and Brigham Young alum, yesterday to make room on the roster for their NFC wild-card game today against Dallas.
Mili's spot was filled by rookie wide receiver Ben Obomanu, who was promoted from the practice squad.
Two Seahawks wide receivers are listed as questionable against the Cowboys. Leading receiver Darrell Jackson has not practiced all week because of a strained toe ligament in his left foot. Emerging wideout D.J. Hackett injured a hip flexor in last Sunday's win over Tampa Bay.
Mili, Seattle's sixth-round choice in 1997, had 44 starts in 114 career games for the Seahawks. He lost his starting job to Jerramy Stevens in 2004.
Mili had 10 catches in 10 games this season, three of them starts while Stevens recuperated from preseason knee surgery. Mili has 163 career receptions with 13 touchdowns.
