A memorial service for David Spalding Boynton, 61, a noted photographer, author and environment advocate on Kaua'i, will be held Sunday at Koke'e State Park.
Boynton died Feb. 10 in a fall while hiking along a cliff trail to Miloli'i Beach on the Na Pali coast.
Boynton, of Koke'e, was born in Hono-lulu on Aug. 30, 1945. He was the Kaua'i District environmental education resource teacher with the state Department of Education and helped found the Koke'e Discovery Center.
He is survived by wife, Susan Marie Boynton; son, Dylan Kalalau Ives Boynton of New Mexico; stepdaughters, Summer Marie Lawton and Sonya Ginny-Ann Wolfe; mother, Elizabeth Spalding Boyton; brother, Peter Starbird Boynton; and sister, Elizabeth Boynton Hoxie.
A memorial service will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Kanaloahuluhulu Meadow at Koke'e State Park. Aloha attire; umbrellas recommended; no flowers.
