KEY HOUSE VOTES
1. 2007 APPROPRIATIONS
The House voted, 286-140, on Wednesday to pass federal funding for the remainder of the 2007 fiscal year. The spending measure provides $463.5 billion in appropriations to keep the government running. The Senate must clear the appropriations bill by Feb. 15 to avoid a government shutdown.

KEY SENATE VOTES
1. MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE
The Senate voted, 94-3, on Thursday to pass legislation to increase the minimum wage for the first time in 26 years and to cut taxes for small businesses. Wages would incrementally increase over three years to $7.25 by 2009. The measure also included multiple tax breaks and credits for small businesses along with language that prohibits companies that hire illegal immigrants from receiving government contracts for up to 10 years.
