O'ahu motorists traveling along the Wai'anae Coast between Ala Akau Street and Kili Drive in Makaha are being advised by the state Department of Transportation to drive with caution on Farrington Highway today through Friday because of single-lane closures in both directions.

The closures are to allow road work crews to do lane striping and pavement marking installations, according to the DOT. Lanes will be closed from 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning this morning and running though Jan. 4.

The work will take place as weather permits. Because of slowdowns, motorists should allow for extra travel time, the DOT said.
