Whether you're watching the Sugar Bowl in the comfort of your living room, a neighbor's carport or your favorite watering hole, you'll want to be waving a ti leaf and wearing black and green to cheer on our winning UH Warrior football team.
Now you can wave a ti leaf and wear it, too, thanks to Crazy Shirts. The latest in their line of specialty-dyed shirts (predecessors include volcanic ash, Kona coffee, beer, chocolate and wine dyes) is a ti leaf-dyed shirt. The new, limited-edition shirt features an exclusive UH Warrior design, a helmet flanked by ti leaves.
For added luck, Crazy Shirts had the ti leaf specialty dye and the T-shirts blessed before production by the Rev. David Kaupu.
Ti has long been a good omen, used in traditional Hawaiian blessings and other ceremonies. Warrior fans in the stands wave ti leaves as they cheer their team to victory.
"This has really been a magical season for the Hawai'i football players, coaches and fans alike," Crazy Shirts president Mark Hollander said in a news release. "The team used their talents to elevate Hawai'i to an unprecedented national stage. So it was only fitting that Crazy Shirts use our talents to create a 'ti-shirt.' "
The shirts are on sale now at all Crazy Shirts locations and at www.CrazyShirts.com. They are available in men's and women's sizes and sell for $27 to $29.
