Four high school seniors from Hawaiian Island Twisters Gymnastics Club have made commitments to compete at the NCAA level, according to Twisters spokesperson Terri Needels.
Roosevelt's Kara Mun and Emiko Ono have accepted full scholarship offers from Brigham Young University, Hawaiian Mission Academy's Becca Cardenas will compete for Arizona and Punahou's Becca Pang will compete for Maryland.
All four gymnasts are at Level 10, the most advanced skill level for competitive gymnastics at the Junior Olympic level.
Cardenas, an All-American at the 2004 and 2006 Nationals, turned down scholarship offers from Arizona State, Oklahoma, Boise State and Ohio State.
Pang, a 2006 All-American on the beam, chose Maryland over Illinois, Brown, Ohio State and Arizona State.
Mun, a Level 10 state champion this year, qualified for Nationals in 2005, 2006 and 2007. She took second place on the floor event and finished third in the all-around competition at this year's Regionals.
Ono qualified for the 2007 Nationals and was an alternate in 2006.
