Hawaii banks lowering rates

Hawai'i's two largest banks are lowering interest rates after the Federal Reserve lowered the federal funds rate by a quarter point.
First Hawaiian Bank, the state's largest bank, said it lowered its base lending rate to 7.25 percent from 7.5 percent yesterday.
No. 2 Bank of Hawaii said it will drop its base rate to 7.25 percent from 7.5 percent starting today.
