A Big Island grand jury has indicted a 35-year-old Hilo man in connection with an alleged attempted kidnapping of a 4-year-old child from a men's restroom in downtown Hilo on July 31.
Kaslor Nota was indicted on charges of attempted kidnapping for allegedly retaining the child with intent to commit a sexual offense, according to the indictment.
The grand jury also indicted Nota for attempted first-degree sexual assault and attempted third-degree sexual assault.
The family of the child was visiting from Michigan. Nota was arrested after the child's adult brother saw the alleged incident in the men's room and intervened.
