TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
"The Office," 8 p.m., NBC. Here's the rerun of an episode that's especially good, even by "Office" standards. In one story, Michael gives a college lecture. He brings Ryan, who has doubts about the future of the paper business. Catch the wonderful scene when Michael explains to the students that paper will always be important. In another, Jenna finally has her work shown at an art show. She invites her colleagues; the result has some touching moments.
"I Hate My 30s," 7:30 p.m., VH1. Weddings are kind of fun when you're in your 20s and in no hurry, it seems. But tonight's episode centers on a woman who is in her 30s and getting restless. She takes the traditional route of situation-comedy characters: She turns a geek into a pseudo-boyfriend, complete with a back story about saving the world. Meanwhile, two of her office colleagues may be dating each other at the wedding. Or they may not, since mixed messages abound. Still, there is time for everyone to break into a bouncy song in the "Grease" style. We're soon reminded that "I Hate My 30s" is one of the freshest shows to arrive this year. It manages to both send up sitcoms and to include witty moments of its own. It's worth catching.
OF NOTE
"Who Wants to Be a Superhero?" 5 and 6 p.m., Sci-Fi Channel. Last week's season-opener was fun, with 10 zealots who want to become a hero in a Stan Lee comic book. Now nine remain. You have to like a show that ranges from the teen-age Ms. Limelight to the motherly Hygena. Tonight, they meet a new villain, Bee Sting.
"Ugly Betty," 7 p.m., ABC. Lucy Liu plays Daniel's old classmate, rushed in to provide legal help.
"Mad Men," 7 p.m., AMC. Pete is back from his honeymoon, but there's fall-out from the fact that he slept with Peggy after his bachelor party. Meanwhile, the business relationship between Don and Rachel changes.
"My Name is Earl," 7 p.m., NBC. Earl's goal is to help a reporter he mistreated. Along the way, however, Randy finally struggles to escape his brother's shadow.
"The Bourne Identity" (2002), 7:30 p.m., USA Network. Before seeing the third Bourne film in movie theaters, you can catch the original. Matt Damon plays a guy who doesn't remember anything. If he did, he might know why so many people seem to want to kill him.
"30 Rock," 7:30 p.m., NBC. Liz and Jenna fall for a couple of guys. Surprisingly, however, it's Jenna who wants the smart one.
"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. In a change-of-pace rerun, stories are told by five corpses.
"Grey's Anatomy," 8 p.m., ABC. The race to be chief of surgery adds another candidate in this rerun. Meanwhile, Alex is feeling involved with the nameless woman rescued from the ferryboat disaster.
"Burn Notice," 10 p.m., USA Network. Fresh from seeing an amnesiac spy in "Bourne," viewers can stick around for an ex-spy in "Burn." Tonight, he's supposed to take a boat from Jamaican gangsters.
