Foodland's new Tribeca Oven bread is real deal

Foodland and Sack N Save stores have introduced a new brand of artisanal breads, Tribeca Oven. And it's great stuff. The breads are baked in small batches. The dough is allowed to rise slowly to develop character; the ingredients are natural, and no artificial preservatives are used. The loaves are hand-shaped, and only unbleached and unbromated flours are used.
The loaves are pre-baked, flash-frozen and shipped to Hawai'i, and yet they taste fresh-baked with great, mature flavor and chew. In Hawai'i, Tribeca is exclusive to Foodland at this time. Prices range from $2.40 for a baguette to $5.59 for an olive loaf. Information: www.tribecaoven.com.
