The Taste of East O'ahu — an evening of food, drinks and entertainment under the stars — is happening from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Calvary By The Sea Church, 5339 Kalaniana'ole Highway.

Among the restaurants and other food groups taking part: BluWater Grill, Jackie's Kitchen, 12th Avenue Grill, Sabrina's, Kahala Catering, Culinary Institute of the Pacific, Cake Couture and Common Groundz. Entertainment is by Hawaiian music duo Jon Osorio and Steve Brown, jazz vocalist Rosanna Perch and the Swingin' Tradewinds Jass Band. There's a silent auction, too.

It's a benefit for the Angel Network and the church's Montessori preschool and youth programs. Admission is $50 general ($25 of which is tax-deductible); $25 kids 4 to 11. Info at www.calvarybythesea.org.
