Spring has sprung ... another Spring New Products Show full of shopping opportunities, entertainment and other attractions — the 32nd such, in case you're counting.
Among the attentiongetters:
Xtreme inflatable rides.
A Slamo-Rama milk cap tournament. Milk caps, or pogs as we call them here in the Islands, originated in the 1920s, made a huge comeback in the mid-1990s and are making another appearance in the new millennium.
A Nintendo Wii competition.
A costumed Spider-Man will appear for picture-taking from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. As most comics fans and movie fans know, the third "Spider-Man" film starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst opens nationwide May 4.
Fashion shows at 5:30 and 8 p.m. today; 11:30 a.m. and 3 and 6 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. Sunday.
Sports celebrities, arts displays, and more than 180 merchants offering their ware round out the three-day expo.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Domestic Violence Clearinghouse.
