Representatives from the Hawai'i Visitors and Convention Bureau will travel to Shanghai next week to drum up greater awareness for Hawai'i's meetings industry at the inaugural 2007 Incentive Travel & Conventions Meetings China trade show.
The INTEX Shanghai exhibition, scheduled for Monday through Wednesday, is expected to draw more than 1,200 Chinese and international business leaders and buyers. HVCB officials say the event represents an opportunity to promote Hawai'i as a premier Pacific Rim destination to host international business meetings.
Joining HVCB is the Hawai'i Convention Center, Hawai'i Tourism Asia and industry partner Euro USA. Along with the trade show exhibition, sales calls will be made on prospective clients.
In the past year, HVCB also has gone to Beijing and Hang-zhou, China, and to Bangkok, Thailand, to seek business.
