A celebration of the life of former oil company executive Robert H. Rath, who died Oct. 6, will be held at 4 p.m. Oct 19 at the Arcadia Retirement Residence, 1434 Punahou St.

Rath, 91, grew up in Palama, attended Punahou School and retired from Union Oil after 35 years as president of Unoco, the company's international division.

He was the son of James and Ragna Rath, who started Palama Settlement.

Rath remained active on the organization's board, raising millions of dollars for its operations.
