The Honolulu Sharks scored six runs in the top of the ninth inning with the help of two errors to beat the West Oahu CaneFires, 8-2, last night in Hawaii Winter Baseball at Hans L'Orange Park.
Honolulu sent nine batters to the plate in the inning, which also featured three hits, a walk and hit batter. Only one run in the inning was earned.
Kanehisa Arime pitched four hitless innings of relief for the win.
West Oahu reliever Joba Chamberlain pitched four scoreless innings with eight strikeouts.
North Shore 5, Waikiki 4: Rodney Choy Foo, a Kailua High alum, and Drew Butera each drove in two runs as the Honu held off the BeachBoys last night at Les Murakami Stadium.
North Shore's Scott Koerber, winner Satoshi Yamazaki and Joe Thatcher combined for eight scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out 14.
Koby Clemens hit a solo homer in the ninth inning for the Honu.
Dexter Fowler batted 2 for 4 with three RBIs for Waikiki, which scored four times in the bottom of the ninth off Robert Hinton.
