Indiana teen still hasn't surfaced

Police are seeking information on a missing 13-year-old girl from Indiana who was last seen Saturday in Waikiki.
Meriah Flores left the Waikiki Ilikai Hotel about 1:30 p.m. and told family members she was going to a convenience store on Hobron Lane. The girl, who was scheduled to fly home Saturday, never returned.
The girl is 5 feet 5 and 105 pounds. She was last seen wearing a gray miniskirt and flower-print sarong top.

PERFORMANCES TODAY FOR MUSICAL
Students at Jefferson Elementary School will hold two performances of "Madame Butterfly" at 6 and 7:30 p.m. today in the school's cafeteria.
The performances are with the Hawai'i Opera Theatre's Artist in Residence program. Admission is free.

MAN, 46, CRITICAL AFTER CAR HITS HIM
A pedestrian was critically injured last night when a car hit him at Ala Lilikoi and Ala Ilima Street.
The 46-year-old man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center, according to Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic. The accident occurred at 9:30 p.m.

BABY'S DEATH NOT SEEN AS FOUL PLAY
No foul play is suspected in the death of an 8-week-old Pearl City boy who was found unresponsive in his bassinet yesterday, police said.
The case is classified as an unattended death pending an autopsy.

A workshop Saturday at Manoa Gardens Elderly Housing Community Center will show participants how to recycle household food and paper waste into organic fertilizer for garden and house plants.

WITNESSES SOUGHT TO FATAL CAR CRASH
Big Island police are seeking witnesses to a one-car crash just outside Papa'ikou on Sept. 16 that killed a 25-year-old Pepe'ekeo man.
Aaron Alvarez, a rear-seat passenger, died after being thrown from a 1993 Nissan four-door sedan near the 8-mile marker of Hawai'i Belt Road.
Police said the Nissan was headed south when it ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned shortly before 7 p.m.
Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash or who came upon the crash scene immediately afterward to call Officer Robert Pauole at 961-8119.

HI-5¢ DRIVE AIDS NEEDY FAMILIES
Students at 'Aina Haina Elementary School will hold a HI-5¢ recycling drive from 7:15 to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 29 in front of the school.
Money raised will benefit the Lokahi Giving Project.
The school is at 801 West Hind Drive, across from 'Aina Haina Shopping Center.
The Lokahi program is sponsored by KHON and the Salvation Army. The program assists Hawai'i's struggling families.

Gov. Linda Lingle is looking for applicants to serve in her administration.
Both full-time and volunteer openings are available at all levels of state government, including departments, attached agencies and boards.

DROWNING VICTIM NAMES UNKNOWN
Maui police said yesterday they were still working to determine the identities of two visitors who apparently drowned Friday after being swept off the rocks at Olivine Pools north of Kahakuloa.
The bodies of a man and a woman were taken from the ocean about 50 feet off the rugged coastline. Autopsies were scheduled for today.
A fire department official said crews have conducted many rescues at the spot, which offers a scenic view but is subject to strong ocean surges.
