Coral Creek Golf Course

Hole No. 2, 115 yards, 9-iron

The green is fairly easy to reach after going over a ravine.

I normally shoot over the flag, but don't like the long putt. The wind was crossing from right to left, so I took my 9-iron and decided to try to get closer to the flag.

I aimed right of the flag because of the wind. I hit the ball with a little dirt and watched it head toward the flag.

I knew the ball was going to reach the green, so I turned away. I saw my golf partners' eyes getting bigger, so I looked back just in time to see the ball hit and bounce into the air and drop directly into the hole.

Was it blind luck? The perfect shot? I think it was a little of both.

I wasn't trying for an ace, but wow, it felt great not having to putt.
