Miss Chinatown 2007 crowned

Honolulu-born Sonja Pui Ling Tam was crowned 2007 Miss Chinatown Hawai'i Queen on Wednesday at the Hawai'i Theatre, in a pageant sponsored by the United Chinese Society of Hawai'i.

She received a $12,000 tuition scholarship from Hawai'i Pacific University, and will represent Hawai'i at the 2007 Miss Chinatown USA pageant in San Francisco in February.

Tam, 25, earned her degree in finance from the University of Hawai'i-Manoa and works at Hawaiian Telcom as a business sales support specialist contractor.

Marie Soon was named First Princess; Rachel Mark was crowned Second Princess.

SUPERMAN SET TO RETURN YET AGAIN

The sequel to "Superman Returns" will likely hit theaters in 2009.

University of Hawai'i Academy for Creative Media director Chris Lee will return as executive producer of the film, Lee said Wednesday at a presentation for ACM students that included "Superman Returns" director Bryan Singer and Hollywood producer Jon Peters.

Singer and Peters are in Honolulu this week to celebrate Lee's birthday, and to begin planning the Superman film, which will likely begin production mid- to late next year in a location yet to be determined. "Superman Returns" was shot in Australia, with four ACM students as interns.

TRACING ANCESTRY OF THE FAMOUS

LONDON — The ancestry of some famous Americans, including Tom Cruise, Halle Berry and Donald Trump, is revealed in immigration records posted on a British genealogy Web site.

Yesterday, http://Ancestry.co.uk posted more than 100 million records from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, showing lists of passengers on voyages to the United States between 1820 and 1960.

The records show Cruise's great-great-grandfather, Dylan Henry Mapother, emigrated to Louisville, Ky., in 1850 from Flint, Wales. Berry's grandmother, Nellie Dicken, was 9 months old when she sailed with her family from Liverpool, England, in 1912 to settle in Philadelphia. And Trump's mother, Mary MacLeod, traveled from Scotland on board The Transylvania in 1935.

K-FED DEMANDS ALIMONY, THE KIDS

Kevin Federline, being divorced by pop star Britney Spears, wants the court to order Spears to support him and give him custody of the couple's kids, 1-year-old Sean Preston and Jayden James, who was born Sept. 12. K-Fed, 28, who has yet to find his metier after failing as a reality TV star and a rapper, filed the suit in Los Angeles a day after Spears filed for divorce.

DENISE RICHARDS LOBS LAPTOPS

"Entertainment Tonight" reports that Denise Richards, ex-wife of Charlie Sheen and current paramour of Richie Sambora, got so annoyed with two paparazzi while she was filming her movie "Blonde and Blonder" at a British Columbia casino on Wednesday that she lobbed their laptops over the balcony. The computers hit the arm of an 80-year-old woman in a wheelchair, who sustained minor injuries. The octogenarian told People magazine she won't press charges.
