All things haute converge at Ala Moana Center

This week marks the annual World Festival, positioned by Ala Moana Center as Hawai'i's Fashion Week. Upscale retailers will unveil limited-edition handbags and accessories made exclusively for the World Festival and available only in Hawai'i.
A World Festival Fashion Showcase, 2:30 to 3 p.m. tomorrow at the mall's Centerstage, provides an opportunity to view all the World Festival exclusive and limited-edition products, and also to see presentations by celebrity guests and artists.
Beauty will be in focus:
MAC Cosmetics launches its holiday collection and introduces a limited-edition, exclusive MAC Silverette overnight makeup case ($90). Three of MAC's global artists demonstrate the hottest holiday looks at Centerstage at 6:30 p.m. today and tomorrow, and by appointment only (955-0356) in-store, 1 to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Sephora presents Leslie Blodgett, founder of Bare Escentuals, known for creating i.d. bareMinerals makeup. Her team is available for consultations by appointment only (944-9797), 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. tomorrow and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.
Dior hosts national makeup artist Thuy Pham, who was trained by Hollywood makeup artist Pati Dubroff. Pham conducts a "Backstage" makeover event by appointment only (943-6900), 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow and Friday.
Neiman Marcus presents Frederic Fekkai celebrity stylist Kasai, from the Beverly Hills salon, by appointment only (951-8887), noon to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
DESIGNER EXCLUSIVES
There are many exclusive product launches and in-store presentations. Some highlights:
Cartier supports Kapi'olani Children's Miracle Network by featuring a limited-edition LOVE bracelet (featured last week on "CSI") in 18-karat rose gold on an orange silk cord. For each $495 bracelet purchased, Cartier will donate $100 to the Network.
Dior offers a jacquard hobo bag with pink patent-leather trim for $595, with only 250 available. They will also introduce two new product lines exclusive to Hawai'i: the Dior Hawai'i jewelry collection and a line of small leather goods.
Salvatore Ferragamo offers a mini Kelly handbag, a limited edition in pink Saffiano pebble calf, available only in Hawai'i for $900.
HermEs hosts scarf-printing demonstrations from 2 to 4 p.m. daily. A craftsperson from the HermEs atelier in Paris will print an exclusive design created for the store.
Neiman Marcus has partnered with Pucci to offer an 18-inch "Farfalle" print neckerchief in three colorways: fuchsia, violet and sky ($50). Also, Lizzie Scheck has designed a white-gold necklace with pave diamonds in a mini flower motif ($295).
Bally, the Swiss design house, has designed just 50 bags specially identified as World Festival 2006 bags ($495).
Fendi's Honolulu exclusive is the "FF Fendi Festival" bag, in bright red zucchino material with red velvet trim and red patent-leather strap ($395).
Coach, a first-time participant in World Festival, has created just 100 Coach Legacy Satchel handbags ($698).
Burberry features its 150th anniversary watch with black calfskin leather strap and stainless-steel case ($695).
Jimmy Choo offers a Rock handbag, made of pearlized soft goat leather with a World Festival plaque inside. Only 25 are available ($1,450).
Theory has a limited-edition (just 50 will be sold) Bianca Bag, a small leather evening bag ($125).
At Louis Vuitton, a master craftsman and sketch artist from the Paris workshop will assist clients in creating a made-to-order design, through Sunday. Unique pieces from the Museum of Heritage in AsniEres, France, are also on display.
Harry Winston presents an exhibition of jewelry and rare timepieces, Friday to Sunday.
Céline hosts a Boogie Exhibition as tribute to their best-selling handbag. Ten Boogie bags will be available.
