Through chats and interviews with directors, casting directors, acting coaches and producers, Anthony defines and shapes techniques useful in making the leap into a sea of fierce, often vicious, competition. She also manages her son, Jordan Anthony; her guidance helped him win a Ford Agency modeling contract. "Coming to Hollywood" bowed at the Cannes Film Festival. ...

HERE 'N' THERE: When Ken Emerson was in New York recently, he played with legendary Les Paul at the Iridium Jazz Club. Emerson's been grooving, performing on Donald Fagen's (Steely Dan) new "Morph the Cat" album and collaborating with Maui's Keola Beamer. ...

Aubrey Glover, local singer-actress, reunited with expats on the Mainland, including Sam Pablo, former member of Show Kidz and Ronald Bright student, who's doing the Aladdin role at California Adventure's Hyperion Theatre, where cast members include Joseph Morales (who occasionally does the Aladdin role) and Robert Orosco, who plays multiple characters. In Las Vegas, Glover reunited with Etienne and Guillaume Carriera, who are in the Riviera's "Splash" revue, and Alicia Vela Bailey, now a Pussycat doll at Caesars Palace's Pure nightspot. Glover teaches musical theater at Hawai'i Starshine Academy in Hawai'i Kai and also is a reservationist for ATA Airlines. ...

TALK ABOUT PEOPLE: Remember Tempest Storm, the renowned queen of burlesque, who frequented Island clubs in the '50s and '60s? Jack Cione does, and the former strip-joint owner took in Storm's return-to-Las-Vegas engagement last weekend at the Celebrity Theatre. "She was one of the biggest moneymakers for me at Forbidden City," Cione said of the red-haired show veteran, who admits to being 78. Storm last appeared in Sin City in 1987. ...

Eric and Karen Gay welcomed a son, Eric James Sonny Gay Jr., on May 8. He was 7 pounds and measured 19 1/2 inches. Dad is associate manager at Hula's Bar & Lei Stand and also was Jack Law's assistant at the now-gone Wave Waikiki. ...

FINALLY: Gregory Shepherd, former Advertiser music critic, has mounted the first-ever musical staged at Kaua'i Community College. The show is "The Fantasticks," and director Shepherd also is in the El Gallo role. The production, in the KCC Performing Arts Center, opened Saturday, but remaining shows are at 7 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday. ...
