Daniel Johnston is a gifted cult folkie. Over three decades, he has released a handful of lo-fi albums brimming with brutally honest, melodic journeys into love and other forms of heartache — a good deal of it the result of demons he has been battling in his mind since childhood.

"The Devil and Daniel Johnston" — which won Jeff Feuerzeig best-director honors at last year's Sundance Film Festival — is a haunting portrait of a talented, manic-depressive artist whose insanity gave him a career and will likely determine his fate.

KIATSU WORKSHOP OFFERED SATURDAY

Practitioners of kiatsu say it promotes the body's natural healing by restoring the flow of living energy — or ki.

Now there's "Pressing with Ki," a workshop its presenter says will stimulate circulation, relieve stress, and reduce pain, stiffness and swelling. Teacher Seichi Tabata has been an aikido student for more than 50 years.
